You will be required to work 27.25 hours per week, 38 weeks
Monday to Friday (to be discussed at interview)
Cook 3 required to take charge of a primary school kitchen. You will be given direction / support from your line manager.
You must have cooking skills/experience.
Part of your duties within this role will include the following:
Organising the day-to-day running of this kitchen
Ordering of supplies, Control of portion sizes etc
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Be able to approach problem management with ease
Deal with any complaint
Having knowledge of the following would be beneficial to this post:
Evaluating food costs, Menu planning,Managing the kitchen budget
H.A.S.A.W. and CookSafe, Follow procedures
Also be aware of the current food trends and customer awareness.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

This post is fixed term for up to 12 months.
