Groom

Full time permanent position

Aboyne, Aberdeenshire

World Horse Welfare is an international horse charity that improves the lives of horses in the UK and around the world through education, campaigning and hands-on care. We currently have a vacancy for an experienced groom at our rehoming and rehabilitation centre Belwade Farm which is located in the town of Aboyne.

A World Horse Welfare groom's work involves the daily care and monitoring of a number of equines undergoing rehabilitation. The successful candidate's personal qualities will include patience, an 'even' temperament and the confidence to work around difficult horses going through rehabilitation. The willingness to work irregular hours, in all conditions, is also necessary. Ideally you will have experience of working on a busy yard and be competent and confident in handling and riding a wide range of equines including youngsters and problem horses.

A sense of humour with good communication and interpersonal skills are also useful when having to deal with members of the general public.

Free shared on-site accommodation is available.

If you would like to join us and help us achieve our vision which is a world where every horse is treated with respect, compassion and understanding, then please apply in writing with curriculum vitae to: Gillian Larter, Human Resources, World Horse Welfare Head Office, Anne Colvin House, Snetterton, Norfolk NR16 2LR or e-mail by clicking the button below.
