Stirling Jobs - Find jobs in Stirling

Stirling is situated in the Central belt of Scotland was traditionally a market town mainly due to it being  encapsulated by flat rural and rich farmland enabling it to prosper as an agricultural and farming town through many centuries. Today the agricultural sector still plays part in  the local economy with a weekly market and livestock auctions. On a whole the sector is less significant as an employment hub however.

Stirling today has a working population of around 45,000 across various sectors including within the the Public Sector, retail with the Thistles Shopping centre and the bustling town centre, financial services with the Prudential having it's Scottish head quarters based there and tourism being key employers in the town. In terms of tourism Stirling has some major attractions such as Stirling Castle, The Wallace Monument and the Blair Drummond Safari Park which is situated on the outskirts of the town.

Unemployment on average is slightly lower in Stirling than in Scotland as a whole. Total job seeker claimants (July 2017) in Stirling was around 3% of the local working population, total of 1,733. The Scottish unemployment rate was 4.5%, so Stirling is evidently performing better as a region to the country as a whole in emerging from the recession of 2009/10.

Stirling which is strategically placed between Glasgow and Edinburgh by rail and road, with other main tows such as Falkirk within commutable distance.
